Since Interstate Heating and Air Conditioning was founded in 2002, Piedmont, OK knew they could rely on us for professional and pleasant service.

Your home air conditioner and heating system should be tuned up at least twice a year, once before the summer and once before the winter, for the best results. Having your home air conditioner and heating system serviced before these peak seasons will allow you to spot repair needs before they become severe. Additionally, your AC and heat will be able to run more efficiently when it is cleaned, inspected and lubricated frequently. Contact us today to get your home air conditioner and heating system tuned up

You should typically replace your home air filter in your air conditioner at least once every 3 months. You may want to replace them more frequently if:

  • You have allergies.
  • You have pets in your home.
  • You have multiple people in your home.

If you have pets, we recommend that you replace your air filter once every one to two months since pets can create excess dander and dust in your home’s air. To learn more about getting your air filter replaced, give us a call today.

Whether you repair or replace your malfunctioning HVAC system depends on several factors. A few reasons you may want to replace your home HVAC rather than repair it include:

  • Your HVAC system is over 10 years old.
  • Your HVAC system does not heat and cool your home effectively anymore.
  • Your HVAC system requires many repairs.

Another reason you may want to replace your HVAC system rather than repair it is if the cost to repair it is more than half the cost to replace it. Getting a new HVAC system will allow you to save money on repairs and energy costs each month. To get your home HVAC system repaired or replaced, call us today

This company had me at hello. Our first interaction was 9 years ago, middle of August and our capacitor went out. We called, they set it up, Kai (the owner himself) came out and made the repair. We signed up for the silver service for $19.99 a month to maintain our unit and get us a discount on any services or repairs. Every technician we’ve had our has been professional, kind and very knowledgeable. Never a bad experience and seem to always go above and beyond to make sure we are satisfied.

Jake K. I arrived for a new customer system replacement opportunity. I spoke with the home owner and he showed me the location of the indoor and outdoor systems. I found the air handler to be a two peace set up with an air conditioner condenser. I explained the cost difference between an air conditioner and a heat pump set up and how it can save cost on their utilities during the winter but the cost of purchasing the heat pump set up is more. We also went over financing options for the system replacement. The new system will have a 10 year parts warranty and a 1 year labor warranty. The new systems will be set on a new condenser pad and new pump ups to bring it up to code. The indoor system I’ll be set on a filter base and will be taller than the existing system. The new system will be a one piece set up. If the homeowner goes with a ac set up I recommended to go with a 20KW electric heater and if they go with a heat pump I recommended to go with a 15KW heat strip kit due to the heat p

19MAR2024 Jason Brown Arrived for recently out no heat. Spoke with the homeowners about the systems performance. It’s been intermittently working we had a friend first then you guys out to look at it, they didn’t find anything and we didn’t run it for about a week after he left. However we tried to use it and it’s not doing anything. If you cycle the fan it comes on, and the AC has worked. Homeowner showed me to the attic and opened the straits for me. When I saw the equipment I immediately noticed the drain line disconnected from the evap coil, and the pan full of water. Furnace is sitting on 2x4s and above water level. Cycled heating at the thermostat. Found humming coming from equipment and board only delivering 68v to the inducer motor. Disconnected power to equipment and inspected board. Found inducer pins discolored and damaged. While looking at the equipment I noticed the ductwork is undersized for this system. Spoke with homeowner about my findings. We decided to think about th

Came out to call for a system not heating properly. Customer stated that they had issues with the heater and had a family friend come out this weekend that has experience in HVAC. He let them know what was possibly the issue, but the system was operating, up until today. Customer had system turned off at the thermostat, so I had her turn it on. I checked system operation and found it working properly, but in need of some maintenance. Flame sensor was dirty, and so were the burners. Pulled blower and inspected the heat exchanger and evaporator coil. No failures in the heat exchanger of what I could see and the evaporator coil was clear of many major build up. Told customer I would clean necessary components and test system to verify it’s operating properly. Customer also had a thermostat that I helped hook up. I cleaned the flame sensor and dust off the burners. Checked amps, temperatures and gas pressure of system. Systems temperature rise was within range and no immediate mechanical f

Jake K. I arrived for a friends and family fall tune up. I first spoke with the homeowner and found the system to be running well. She showed me the thermostat and I found the system set to emergency heat on this 58 deg day. We discussed how the system runs in heat pump mode and when it’s best to switch it to emergency heat vs heat pump modes. She should me the location on the indoor unit and I inspected the downflow air handler. I did find the blower wheel to be a little dirty but still running well. I did find the evaporator coil to be mostly clean but the fins on the coil are starting to corrode. This can make it difficult to clean the coil if it were to be done. By trying to clean the evaporator coil it could cause more damage to the evaporator than what it might be worth trying to get it clean vs how dirty it is and how much damage might possibly be done to the coil. The system in the shape it is in now is running well and all electrical components are within all manufacturers ran

06FEB2024 Jason Brown Arrived for ductwork estimate. Spoke with Iva about the systems performance. My living/kitchen area is staying colder than the rest of the home. Currently the system is a downflow with 2 supply runs coming from the downflow platform and going to our front office and master. Our office has too much airflow and is staying very hot. Our bedroom has slightly too much airflow, however I’m hesitant to remove that register as we may want the additional cooling. Inspected ductwork furnace Ac and coil. Discussed options and future plans. We decided to get a couple estimates for the ductwork. While out I checked over major components of equipment as the warranty ends in two weeks. Found the air conditioner’s run capacitor reading 0/70 on the hermetic leg. I found the blower wheel, cabinet, and coil coated and Sheetrock dust and recommend a duct cleaning once renovations are complete. Attached are discussed estimates. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out

Came out to call for a system not heating properly. Customer stated that it will run for a little bit, then it will shut off and never maintain temperature. Customer had an issue a couple years back with the condensation line freezing up. Checked system over and found the line frozen up again and the units drain backing up and causing a pressure switch issue. Customer had ran heat tape halfway down the line, but not the rest of it and it froze there. Part of the pipe was cracked, so I had to replace part of the line. Then I ran customers supplied heat tape the remainder of the line and reinsulated the pvc line. Cycled system on and unit reached set temp by the time I was done cleaning up. System is now heating properly.

Came out to call for a system not heating properly. Tenant stated that the system wasn’t operating like it should, and nothing was coming on. I checked the system over and found the unit to have lost power. I checked the outlet and had proper voltage, checked the door switch and had voltage there as well. Found the control board to have an intermittent power supply issue due to a short on the back of the board, causing the unit to only supply partial power randomly. Discussed with owner of property about repair needed. Customer is selling home and needed the repair done. I picked up the control board, and came back to install it. After installing the new control board, I double checked operation and did some minor cleaning/adjustments of components. System is now heating properly.

Fall tune up on upstairs and downstairs systems. Spoke with homeowner, and they recently change the downstairs filter, but needed help with getting upstairs filter changed. Change batteries and thermostat. Customer has cycle systems in Heating and both systems have been working well so far. Inspected, Ductwork, thermostat, controls, filters. Checked both furnace, blowers, lower and upper heat, exchangers, evaporator coils and drains. Clean both flame sensors. Cycled both systems on heating and checked motor amps, heat rise, and gas pressures. Replaced gas caps. Both systems working within specifications at this time. Talked with homeowner about downstairs system blower motor. It is shutting off about 40 seconds before it should, without blowing residual heat out of system. Heat exchangers and flue appear to be clear. Motor amps are well within range. We will make a note to monitor this motor, as it is functioning well otherwise. Kianoosh M

Came out to call for a customer concern about a noise she heard this morning. She stated that we replaced the thermostat a couple of weeks ago and this morning she was hearing a noise and couldn’t find out where it was coming from, so she thought it could be the thermostat. Went over how the thermostat operates with customer and let her know that the thermostat we installed doesn’t make any noises, nor alarms for reminders. Checked system operation and couldn’t recreate the noise customer heard this morning. Told her there’s a chance it was something else other than the thermostat/system.

I arrived for a new customer at a rental property. I met the homeowner on sight and found that the system will run but not cool. I inspected the system and upon removing the door of the air conditioner I found that the contactor and both run capacitors were not mounted at all and fell out of the cabinet and was hanging by its wires and still running. I first cycle the system off and turned off all power off and mounted all components to safely check the system. I found the system’s run capacitor to have failed. I made this aware to the homeowner and we agreed to replace the capacitor and recheck the indoor and outdoor system to see how it’s running after we get all parts working and running. Once the system was running I checked the systems operation and found the system to be running at 18 deg subcooling of 11 deg manufacturers recommendation. This system is running a little overcharged. I made this aware to the homeowner and we decided to not do any with the system this time due to t

Silver club summer AC service on 2016 Carrier split system we installed. Spoke with homeowner and offered to help with any additional things. The thermostat has still been giving an alarm for filter change. Due to age and previous recommendation, will change the thermostat with customer permission. Washed condenser thoroughly, checked capacitor, contactor, fan and compressor. Went in attic and changed filter, checked thermostat wiring, blower, evap coil and drain line. Changed thermostat to Honeywell t6 programmable. System does not have a common wire connected, so thermostat will need to run off battery power. Programmed system to wake at 73 degrees and sleep at 68 degrees in cooling mode. Tested system refrigerant pressure, temperature split and motor amps. Tested and verified proper thermostat function in heating, cooling and fan modes. System working well at this time. Will invoice customer for work done today.

When I arrived, I was able to blow out the drain line with nitrogen, and added a pan treatment for future protection. System is operating properly at this time.

I replaced the air filter and check the thermostat operation then begin servicing equipment. Pull the sides off of the condenser and clean the coil, then checked the components in the condenser. Moved indoors and checked the capacitor and amperage on the blower motor. Powered up system while checking start up amperage, then run load amperage of compressor and condenser fan motor. Calculated superheat and sub cooling, which may be a little low due to the ambient conditions, but the charge is good. I will include an estimate for a start capacitor, if fuses continue to blow. Came out to service call for a system that wasn’t cooling properly. Customer stated that the unit was running, just wasn’t getting cool inside the home. I checked the system over and found the unit low on refrigerant. Unit was installed in 2007 and is a 410a unit. Discussed with customer about options as far as leak searches and possible repairs. Offered complimentary minor leak search to see if I could locate the leak in the system. After I checked the coils and line set welds, I was not successful at finding a leak at this time. Went over major leak search with customer and they wanted to hold off on doing a major leak search. Customer has suspicion that the unit was running low last year, as it was struggling a little then too. After discussing it over with customer. They chose to charge the system for now and see if they can make it through summer, and look into replacement in the fall. I added 4.8lbs of 410a to the system to get it up and running. I arrived for a thermostat beeping problem. I inspected the thermostat and found this thermostat to be a audio thermostat. It was beeping to get the filter reminder reset and the service done on the system. I reset the filter reminder and the thermostat went right back to saying the filter needed to be replaced. I then looked up the info on the thermostat and had to hard reset the thermostat and reprogram the thermostat for the homeowner. I changed some settings in the thermostat that would be better for the homeowner. I did find the display to glitch and fade out the display when selecting the temperature settings. I confirmed that the battery’s were good and the thermostat still had this issue. I recommended to replace the thermostat so we would not have this problem with the thermostat. Silver club summer AC tune up service on two systems up and downstairs. Spoke with homeowner about any issues in home. We have spoken in the past about adding a return to master bedroom, but today homeowner wanted me to look over causes of dirt smell in home. Homeowner is trying to change filters monthly to alleviate issue. I will go over findings as I do the tune ups today. Washed both condensers thoroughly, checked contactors, hard start and dual run capacitors. Checked upstairs ductwork, seals, blowers, blower capacitors, drains, evap coils and existing filters. Cycled both systems on and checked amps, volts, pressures, temp split and cleaned drains with water. Both systems working within ranges at this time.
