Jake Kring. 02-14-25. I arrived for a new customer no heat call. I spoke with the homeowner and found that the system has stopped heating. I inspected the indoor system and found the low volt fuse to have failed. I further troubleshooted the system and found the reason that the fuse had failed was due to the contactor coil had shorted. I explained this to the homeowner and we decided to replace the contactor at this time. Once I replaced the part I cycled the ac and heat on and made sure both systems worked correctly. We discussed the club maintenance plan and decided to not sign up on the plan to prevent issues like this.

Came out to call for an issue with the system not kicking on at all. I checked system over and found the low voltage fuse blown. Traced down issue to the condenser capacitor. I had put an oval type capacitor in and the vibration from the unit had caused it to touch the contactor low voltage and blow the fuse. I put a different style capacitor in to keep that happen from happening. Cycled system on to recheck operation. System is now operating properly.

Came out to call to replace recommended fan motor and clean the condenser coil. Pulled existing motor and capacitor, added new capacitors due to new motor needed a 10mfd capacitor instead of 7.5 that the original used. Installed new fan motor, and washed condenser coil. Went to cycle system on and found more issues with the unit. Thermostat wasnt relaying proper voltage to outdoor unit so it wasn’t functioning correctly, and the electrical elements weren’t wired up properly either. Customer stated that he would get messages from the existing eco bee that the emergency heat was running longer than normal, and that the heat pump rarely functioned. Customer was skeptical about the existing motor even being bad to begin with but we spun the shaft and the bearings were shot. Let him know that I could replace the thermostat and then cycle heat pump on to test it. He approved, so I replaced the thermostat and cycled the heat pump on and it worked. The heating elements are an additional issue

Tom M. 1-8-24. Customer stated he’s had multiple issues from the system not heating, to breakers tripping and blade fuses popping. He recently replaced the thermostat. Found failed condenser fan motor. Noticed heat pump coil is extremely dirty and needs to be washed. Capacitor size 45/7.5. System is out of warranty due to being the second owner. I spoke to him over the phone. Advised him the fan motor was bad and recommended replacing the outdoor unit. He stated he’s going to be selling the house soon. He’s going to call us back and let us know what he wants to do. Will need to call American standard to get price on the motor if he wants to repair if not we can schedule a return trip for when he’s home to go over replacement options.

Tom M. 1-8-24. Provided two options. Emailed them to the power of attorney. She stated she will discuss with her husband tonight and get back with us

Tom M. 1-8-24. Customer stated the furnace is not heating. Found failed blower motor, would have to pull the flue to get to the blower motor. Furnace is also in poor condition would require a deep clean and a tune up. The owner is elderly spoke to the power of attorney over the phone and she asked I provide a replacement quote. I’ve provided furnace only and furnace with Ac. She stated she will go over it later with her husband and get back with us.

11/21/2024 JeremiahF Arrived on site and went over scope of today’s service. Recovered refrigerant and uninstalled existing equipment. Flushed line set. Installed new equipment. Made duct board transition from furnace to slab coil. Sealed with metal tape. Return duct is directly attached the the bottom pan of the furnace which was sealed with mastic. Installed new float switch on coil and wired with existing auxiliary drain float switch. Pressure checked line set at 250 psi and passed pressure test. Pulled vacuum down to 130 microns and passed vacuum decay. Released refrigerant, will need to go back out to verify charge on a later day when outdoor ambient temp is high enough to properly check. Set gas pressures for both stages of heating. System is operating properly at this time.

Tom M. 11-19-24. Fall maintenance Air handler no heat pump. Replaced air filter. Customer will need to provide air filters size is 15x20x1 or upgrade to an electronic air cleaner. Tightened all electrical connections. Blower capacitor test good 7.4 rating is 7.5. All heat strips are operating pulling 17 amps. System is heating properly at this time.

Came out to call for a system not heating properly. Customer stated that the system sounds like it is operating, but no heat is being felt. I checked the system over and found a couple of issues. The pressure switch wasn’t closing properly due to blocked inducer port. Thais was causing the inducer to run constantly on and off, without being able to complete the heating sequence. The blower capacitor was also weak and could fail soon. Made customer aware of both issues. Customer had me replace the capacitor and I also cleared out the inducer port. Cleaned flame sensor and dust out of the burner cabinet. Cycled heat on and checked amps, temperatures and gas pressure. System is now heating properly. Advised customer that the system is original to the home and may want to start planning for replacement. They moved in recently and have a home warranty

Came out to perform preventative maintenance on AC system. Discussed with customer about maintenance being provided, filter being changed already and any other issues she may be having with the unit. Customer stated that the system was cooling fine now that the filter was changed. I inspected the blower assembly, motor, capacitor, evaporator coil, drain and overall condition of equipment and ductwork in attic. Washed condenser coil thoroughly. Inspected the fan motor, compressor, contactor, capacitor and coil condition. Checked system operation, amps, temperatures and pressures. Unit is cooling properly within manufacturing specs at this time. Customer signed up for maintenance plan to help keep system running efficiently.

12SEP2024 Jason Brown Arrived for non club no cool. I spoke with Evangeline about the systems performance. It’s not cooling, and there’s water stains around the AC. Inspected equipment, found filter quite dirty, and evaporator coil completely frozen. Spoke with homeowner about my findings, we decided to schedule a tune up for Monday. Set system into fan only at the thermostat. Advised homeowner to try the system tomorrow around 3pm. 1. Wait until Friday evening maybe around 3pm and then set the system to cooling. Adjust thermostat to desired temp. 2. run system for 2 hours, then check the temperature at the thermostat. If it has not lowered at all turn off system and call. Thanks, it was great to meet you!

No cool. Joe(JC)R 06/23/2024 I arrived to perform a call where the system was not putting out cold air. I found that the condenser fan was running but the compressor wasn’t. The compressor side of the capacitor had failed. I checked and found that the system was under warranty. I permission from the customer to replace the part. I checked out the system after replacing the part. I didn’t see anything issues and the system is running well.

Alano M. Jake k. 6-14-24 No cool service call Upon arrival homeowner explained that system was cutting off Inspected the outdoor unit and found it in range voltage to power the system so the outdoor unit was in range and in working condition Went to inspect the indoor unit in the attic and found that the secondary pan was full of water and float switch was engaged recommended drain replacement. Customer went with recommendation. The line from the pan was clogged and we cleared that out and changed the float switch to the main drain and replaced the secondary pan line to the hot water tank closet to drain. System is up and running at this point. Recommended membership and customer declined thank you for choosing Interstate HVAC

Dry event, cleaning, attic discharge. Spoke with homeowner and home is four years old. And they’re having sensor issues with their smart dryer. Dryer repair company recommended having dryer vent cleaned. Inspected dryer vent in attic and found that it is about 40% clogged. Customer agreed to have dryer vent cleaned. Using shop vac and spin brush. I cleaned out the entire dryer line. Cleaned up extra extra debris, reattached, dryer, vents and check for proper dryer operation. Everything is working properly at this time!

Jake K. I arrived for a red club membership fall tune up. I spoke with the homeowner and found that he systems has been running well and they have no issues with the systems preference. I inspected the furnace and found the filters to be in need of replacement. I replaced the filters and checked the systems operation. I found the induced draft motor to be runaway within its manufacturer amp draw range but it does have a little bit of a noise to it wen it comes on. The gas pressure and blower motor are running well. The blower wheel is dusty but the motor it’s self if dirty. I cycled the system on multiple times and found the system to cycle on and off as the demand of the thermostat called for. I let the wife know how the system is running and she said she would talk with her husband about the system and what was recommended on the last service and what was found at this time. Overall the system is running and heating at this time. If you have any questions please reach out to us and w

Jake K. I arrived for a warranty call on a system we recently rewired to get the system running. I inspect the system and found the low voltage fuse to have failed. I also found that the system was we and the parts to have water on them. I suspect that the homeowner was running the air conditioner and he systems had frozen over. When they turned the ac off and the heat on the ice melted and got the electric parts below the coil wet. This is what I believe to have blown the fuse. I replaced the fuse and cycled the system on In heating mode and found all three elements to be running properly. I also found the blower motor to be running correctly. This is not a heat pump system. I explained to the homeowner that the system could be low on refrigerant but I can’t properly check the systems refrigerant charge with the outdoor temperature at 50 degrees. I recommended to not run the ac when it’s colder outside due to it being a higher possibility of the system freezing up. I explained that th

31OCT2023 Jason Brown Arrived for previous customer no heat. Spoke with homeowner about the systems performance. Something happened and fried all of my electrical equipment in the home. I’ve had an electrician out to give me the all clear, the Air handler doesn’t work, they’ve replaced the transformer and breaker in the air handler. Inspected air handler found new transformer, with 1 leg missing, found trimmed off wire ends in bottom of electrical cabinet and all screws for cabinet missing. With homeowner per I rewired the equipment and replaced the fuse. Cycled system in heating and in cooling. Both modes are operating to the best of Their abilities. There is a 1 year labor warranty on my work, however if anyone else gets into the system the warranty is void.

07SEP2023 Jason Brown. Arrived for red club no heat spoke with homeowner about the systems performance. The heater will not start, it’s just making a humming noise. Inspected propane furnace. Found inducer motor seized. Removed inducer motor spin wheel manually readable and cycle heat. Inducer kicked on. Made homeowner aware that it will need to be replaced. Homeowner does not want to do anything else with it, getting price and availability Monday. System is heating at this time, made homeowner aware that without repairs I cannot guarantee it’s performance.

Performed a dryer vent cleaning For the Barnes Family. I went to jobsite for a potential duct/dryer vent cleaning. After introducing myself to Mrs. Barnes, I asked her some questions regarding her ductwork, dryer vent etc. She had just moved in about three days ago and to a new home, she has had a duck cleaning from us before just from another house. The previous homeowners had big dogs and because of that Mrs. Barnes was interested in a duct cleaning. Home has 13 supplies and two returns. I took pictures of two returns and two supplies and showed Mrs. Barnes what I had seen. I told her that it’s good for cleaning and even offered up an estimate for duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning. Mrs. Barnes ultimately made the decision to not do duct cleaning today but maybe another time, but was definitely interested in a dryer vent cleaning, and wanted that done today, if possible. I told her of course, in a immediately started working on the dryer vent equipment. Dryer vent was a vertical

I arrived for a blue club membership tune up X2. I first spoke with the homeowners and found that they are moving to a new home and they wanted to have both the indoor and outdoor system inspected for the new home owners. I first inspected the indoor systems starting with the downstairs unit and found the 10 KW air handler to be clean and in proper working order. I checked all electrical components and the operation of the thermostat and found it to be running properly. I then inspected the air handler in the end story and found the air handler with a 5 KW heater to be running properly and all electrical components to be running well. I then checked that systems thermostat and cycled it through all settings as well. I then replaced both filters in the upstairs and downstairs units. I then inspected both outdoor heat pumps and found both coils to be fairly clean. I cleaned both condensers and inspected all electrical components in both heat pumps. I checked the refrigerant pressures in

Came out to call for a customer concern about a system not cooling properly after we made repairs on it. I checked system over and found the thermostat set to 80 degrees and the system satisfied at 80. Turned thermostat down a couple degrees and checked operation. System is cooling properly at a subcooling temperature of 13 degrees. System requires 12. My guess is, since the home is vacant at the moment, that if someone came by to turn it on, it would take the system hours to drop temperature due to it being set at 80 degrees. Home also has a shallow roof line and barely any ventilation. You can feel the heat coming from the attic. There’s a lot of built up heat and humidity at 80 degrees and will take time to cool back down if being used. Set system to 78.

No cool. Joe(JC)07/23/2023 I arrive to the call with the customer said that the system has been idle for the past year as the house a bit empty and when they arrived today and turned it on that it was not cooling the house at all. I found that The discharge line coming out of the compressor had developed a leak on it and it had lost a good portion of the refrigerant that was in the system. I got the go ahead from the customer to repair the leak and to recharge the system I recovered all the refrigerant that was in the system so I could put it back in later. I’ve had the leak and pressure tester is in pull the vacuum. After that I recharge the system. The system is now cooling and it will take a bit of time to bring down the temperature as it is 89° in the house but the system is now working properly.
