Blue shield club heater maintenance. Joe(JC)R. 02/13/2025 Performed full system evaluation and safety inspection. I arrived to perform the customer’s annual heater maintenance. The customer didn’t want any questions and said that everything was running well. The customer wasn’t interested in having the dryer vent cleaned or the hot water tank flushed. I asked the customer if I could open the garage door. They said I could and I opened the door. I opened the single door by mistake and it was locked. I was unaware that it was lock. It bent a piece of metal at the top allowing the middle metal section to come loose. I was able to get the middle section back into place and partly unbend the top metal piece. I the inspected the furnace. The heat exchanger was in good shape and the heater components were in good shape. The system is operating correctly at this time. I also replaced the filter.

Austin 2-4-25 Completed the furnace tuneup on the carrier upflow equipment during the visit. I went through the systems thoroughly to ensure that it was working properly and after going through and checking all the mechanical parts and gas pressure I did discover that everything on the system was still working great and no issues were discovered during today’s visit. I did clean up inside of the furnace, a little bit and clean up the flame sensor and also change the filters during today’s visit to make sure everything was clean and then the best shape I can possibly help make it be in, but through all the test and evaluation of the equipment everything passed and it was working very well and so as of now the tuneup is complete and the customers good to go. Austin 2/4/25 Completed furnace tuneup on the brand new 90% carrier downflow after going through the system, thoroughly and checking all the corresponding parts. There was no issues with the equipment whatsoever. Everything was in great shape. I did clean out the inside of the unit a little bit with my vacuum and around the closet itself And I also clean the flame sensor and adjusted the gas pressure but as far as mechanically working and readings, everything was working exactly how it should which came to no surprise with it being 11 months old, but anything can happen. That is why we check everything out and that is why it also has warranties because you never know what could happen but as of now it appears that they are good to go and shouldn’t have any issues on the furnace itself and as far as , the filters they were all changed during today’s visit as well so they are good to go on their furnace . Dryer vent cleaning. Joe(JC)R. 01/31/2025 I arrived to perform the customer’s dryer vent cleaning. The customer said that the dryer was over heating and they were told they needed to have the vent cleaned. I moved the dryer and inspected the vent. There were several spot where there were major blockages but the rest wasn’t as dirty. I then began cleaning. I ran the brush up the vent until lint stopped coming out. I then reinspected the vent and cleaned up.

Austin 1/27/25 Completed furnace tuneup on the 90% carrier unit after going through the system thoroughly and checking all of the mechanical parts for the homeowner to make sure everything is running great and how it should the system was only put in six months ago so it still should run fairly good however, as of right now the operation was great and it was definitely running how it should with no mechanical issues, but there was some water dripping down into the blower motor cabinet and getting onto the filter at the bottom of the furnace and I discovered that the exhaust PVC for the induced draft motor was loose on the connection so water was coming out of it and I was able to tighten it up and confirm no more water was coming out of that spot. If there is any more water coming out of that unit, I do not know where else it could be as I did not see any other indications that it would be somewhere else, but as of right now the system is good the homeowner is taking care of and I gav

17JAN2024 Jason Brown Arrived for previously bid bath exhaust flashing installation. Spoke with homeowners about the scope of work. Verified location and look of flashings. Disconnected existing exhaust hoses and made penetrations through roof. Installed 4” 90 and dove tailed ends to secure to decking. Sealed around elbows with silicone then installed flashings level and centered over the vent. Secured flashings to roof with roofing nails then sealed all penetration with silicone. Debriefed with homeowners. Left some excess hose on both vents for electricians to reconnect. Thanks guys!

Jake Kring. 01-16-25. I arrived for a club member fall tune up on a split system and a P-tac unit. I first spoke with the homeowner and they had questions about the bathroom vents. I first inspected the bathroom vents and found that the duct has been cut and was terminating in the attic. The master bathroom vent was working at this time. The other bathroom vent light works and the heat strip comes on but the fan is locked up. The system is wired to control all three modes separately. In heating mode the heat strips come on and flow bright red until the high limit shuts the system off. I recommended to install two attic vents to get the system to terminate outside. We decided to go ahead and install the vents tomorrow afternoon while we can get on the roof top and beat the weather coming in. I then inspected the main system and replaced all filters. I found the system to be working well but the heat exchanger has some heat stress but no signs of fractures at this time. All amps and temp

Tom M. 12-30-24. Blue shield furnace maintenance. Air filters are clean. Cleaned flame sensor. Set gas pressure. Idm amps .7. Flue Co 5 ppm. Fuel efficiency 95.5%. While inspecting the heat exchanger noticed that its cracked. I’ve shown the customer and she has signed an unsafe appliance form. She I asked I email her the pictures she is going to show her husband and get back with us.

Austinz 12/24/24 Completed the furnace tuneup. After going through the system, thoroughly and checking all of the mechanical parts inside of the equipment, I ran the full diagnostic on the equipment, and the only thing on the system I had to do was adjust the gas pressure on it down to the recommended level for the gas valve in the system but everything else was in range on the equipment. The customer did mention something about a noise on the furnace when it’s starting up which all it was the inducer motor vibrating on start up the moment the system kicks the heat on the sound equalizes and goes away, which is pretty normal on a 80% furnace either way, but from the mechanical readings and functionality of the system everything is working how it should present themselves during today’s visit which completed today’s furnace tuneup. I did speak to the caretaker of the home about putting a yard sign outside and he agreed with it and allowed me to do so on today’s visit, and the filters

I then checked the furnace. The heat exchanger was in good shape and the heater components were running well. The furnace is running well at this time.

The customer said that everything was running well and didn’t have any questions. He didn’t need the hot water tank flushed or the dryer vent cleaned. He did want me to double check the condenser capacitor which was noted as getting weak. I then checked the furnace. The heat exchanger was in good shape and the heat components were running well. The drain line and pan were both clean. The furnace is running well at this time. I then checked the condenser capacitor. The compressor side was at 40 MFD and was rated of 45. The fan side was at 3 and was rated for 5. The customer decided to have me replace it with a turbo capacitor. I replaced and rechecked the condenser. I also replaced the filters. The system operating correctly at this time.

Jake Kring. 11-21-24. I arrived for a previous customer no heat call. I spoke with the homeowner and they explained that the cool will work but the heating will not come on. I checked the furnace located in the attic and tested the system in the attic and found the heat to come on and run with no issues. I then inspected the thermostat and found t to be a thermostat that needs a set screw to hold the thermostat to the back plate for a good connection for the thermostat to operate system. I bypassed the thermostat in the hall way and confirmed that the furnace is running. I explained to the homeowner that they need to replace the thermostat due to it not making proper connection. The homeowner wants to try and find a screw to put the thermostat together for it to run the system.

The customer said that everything was running well and didn’t have any questions. The customer decided to just pay the non club maintenance fee and not sign up for the club plan. The sister of the customer is the one to make decisions like that and wasn’t there. I then checked the furnace. The heat exchanger was in good shape and the heater components were running well. Jake Kring. 11-14-24. I arrived for a possible call back. I inspected the system and found the gas valve to be getting proper power but the valve is not opening to allow the furnace to light. I explained to the homeowner that this gas valve will be under warranty but I believe that she may be getting a power issue to the home causing the issue. This next valve will be under warranty but if it fails the next gas valve will not be under warranty. Jake Kring. 11-15-24. I arrived to replace a warranty gas valve. I swapped the valve and checked the systems operation and found the valve to work properly and the furnace cycled on without issues. I set the gas pressure to 3.5 and left the system running per the homeowners thermostat settings.

Came out to perform preventative maintenance on furnace for customer. Discussed with customer about maintenance being provided, filter, and any issues regarding the system. Customer stated he replaced the 4” filter a little over a month ago, and hasn’t had any issues with the system. Inspected the blower assembly, motor, capacitor, electrical components, heating components, drains, heat exchangers, evaporator coil and overall condition of equipment in closet. Found blower motor with oil residue on it, and the heat exchanger to have some wear as well. Blower amps are within range, so I informed customer that it’s most likely under stress during the AC season. Cleaned flame sensor and dust out of the cabinet. Cycled system on and checked amps, temperatures, and gas pressure of furnace. Found inducer motor also at max amps. Discussed with customer about potential issues that may arise with the system given what I have found. Customer would like to revisit the repair vs replacement next ye

Came out to call to complete a recommendation we made to replace a gas valve on the furnace. Customer showed me location of equipment and I let her know that I would install the new gas valve, verify system is working properly, and let her know if anything else needs attention. Turned system off and shut off the gas. Disconnected the gas pipe from the valve and replaced it. Installed new valve in place and wired it in. Reconnected gas pipe and made sure there wasn’t any gas leaks. Cycled system on and checked amps, temperatures and gas pressure. New gas valve is operating properly and the furnace has no other issues present at this time.

Jake Kring. 11-08-24. I arrived for a club member no heat call. I inspected the 17 year old 90+% Goodman furnace. I found the two stage gas valve not opening when receiving power. I spoke with the homeowner and we briefly discussed cost of a furnace replacement and we wanted to wait and see what the part cost would be when I can get ahold of the manufacturer. I will be reaching out Monday for pricing and availability.

Came out to perform preventative maintenance on furnace for customer. Discussed maintenance being provided, filters and any issues customer is having with the system. Customer stated that the filters do need to be changed, and that everything is working well so far. I changed out filters in home for customer and inspected return ductwork. Inspected the blower assembly, motor, capacitor, electrical components, heating components, evaporator coil, and heat exchanger. Cleaned flame sensor and dust off the burners and components. Checked thermostat operation, wiring, amps, temperatures and gas pressure. Adjusted gas pressure to proper reading. Found that the thermostat battery back up doesn’t work and solely works off common wire from furnace. Informed her that if the thermostat ever goes blank there is a power issue to the thermostat. Discussed possible replacement of thermostat, but customer will keep current thermostat for now. System is heating properly at this time.
