AC/Heater Replacement

Review of Interstate Heating & Air Conditioning

After having four different HVAC businesses provide estimates to replace the AC/heater on a mid-size home I selected Interstate. Turns out to have been a very good decision. Moderately priced for a new Carrier system. Work was scheduled quickly and office kept in contact with me by phone and text to let me know when technicians would arrive. Techs were on time, personable and professional and completed the work in a single day...on the hottest day of the year in OKC. Techs worked efficiently with minimal disruptions to the home and the new system looks great with all of the work appearing tight and clean (the unit itself as well as all the lines and connections). Hauled away all of the old stuff so there was nothing I had to contend with or dispose of myself. A great job all the way around...cannot really think of any improvements. And, of course, the new system is performing superbly.

We arrived to install two 12X12 supply grills one in the landing on the stair way and one in the hall way. We also upsized the 14” return to a 18” return to let the system move the proper amp of air to prevent the blow motor and squirrel cage from vibrating and coming apart from the high static presage low air movement. The homeowner changed the locations on where they wanted to dump the extra air. We put both grills in the landing of the stairwell. I readdressed the issue with the homeowner that this will not fix the air flow to all the rooms. This will only prevent the system from becoming unbalanced and changing parts prematurely. We opened all grills and had the homeowner see how changing the systems duct effects the rest of the house. The homeowner knows that we cannot guarantee that this will fix the air flow to all room without a air balance analysis and running correctly sized duct to all rooms. I arrived for a no heat issue on a system we recently added duct to. On my ver

I arrived for a issue with a system running for a short amount of time and shutting off. I spoke with the homeowner and they were worried with the OG&E app and that it showed the run time and amperage of the system running. I explained that a air handler that is installed with a ac only will have a high amp draw and a short heating run time. This is why I bid a system with a heat pump and a system with a ac only. I measured the temperature rise on the air handler and found it to be a 31 deg temp rise and the system to be supplying 100 deg supply air. She did not want the system to run with a high amp load and heating the house quickly. What I did to increase the run time and lower the temperature rise and temperatures out put is unwired one heat strip. This lowered the temperature rise to 15 deg and lowered the supply air temperature to 89 deg. I explained why the system was operating this way and could be operating better with a heat pump. And how a heat pump achieves a low amp draw a
